Regional Quiz Rally is coming up, and our first Quiz practice of the year will be on Sunday Jan 3, from 2:00p to 4:00p at the Fulton UCC at 5th and Jefferson . We met there a few times last year.
We'll pass out quiz materials like study schedules and entry forms , play some games, learn some things, and plan for the Quiz Rally. We'll plan to meet most Sunday afternoons until March. We may arrange a few field trips also.
Parents the dates of Quiz Rally this year are March 5 through 7. It will be held at the Crown Plaza Hotel in the Kansas City area. We'll have info on room reservations later.
Note from the DC:
Our September mounted meeting on the 12th was both busy and beneficial. A couple of prospective new members visited us in hopes of joining HVPC in October ~ Hannah L., Valarie B.. (Also thinking about HVPC are Zac W. and Daria L..)
Let us know if you have any more questions and we hope to see you soon.
Holly Duello Dometrorch, HVPC graduate HA, generously spent her day with us teaching four groups and everyone seemed to enjoy her wisdom and patience while working on shortening and lengthening strides at all gaits, over ground poles and jumps. In attendance were Alicia/Buddy, Mackie/Rafiki, DeLayne on Lisa's Bree, and Joanna/Bay. The second group consisted of Jordan/Winston, Brittany on Lora's Rugby, and Deanna on her new horse Remy. Nicole on her new horse, Bracelet, and Rachel on Tucker rode next. The last group was Ashlyn on frisky Hocus, Maggie/Smarty, and newest member Kaylee on Nicole's Pepe. Thanks to all who loaned horses ~ what a great positive experience to ride appropriately matched new horses! Lora and Curtis grilled hot dogs (she won't buy the cheap ones anymore, sorry) and some chicken while everyone else provided lots of other goodies to share. Several of the D3s practiced bandaging their horses in stable wraps to get ready for the C1 requirement. Good Work! Thanks to Mackie for staying and helping with that!!!
Most in attendance picked up their 2010 membership form and directions for paperwork required. Please remember to have it all ready to bring to HVPC meeting on Oct. 14th. If you haven't gotten your preprinted 2010 membership form with directions, call Lora to arrange to pick up at Fox Run or in town somewhere.
