HVPC Member Competes at
UIPM Junior World Championships

Rosalie P. traveled to Buenos Aires, Argentina as a member of the USA team to compete in the 2011 Jr. World Modern Pentathlon Championship competition in Nov. 2011. Rosalie competed in the womens and also in the mixed relay event. She had some personal record times, and enjoyed meeting all the international athletes and site seeing. In the mixed relay showjumping round, the two team riders share one horse, with one rider doing the first half of the course, and rider two finishing off the round. Rose was glad that she and her team mate Harry were of similar height!

Two HVPC members Compete in Quiz at Championships East 2009

Stacey Bates Reports:
A great time was had by all of the D Juniors at the Quiz
Championships...lots of new friends made from Alaska to Texas and in between.
The three person team was:

Deanna Bates -HVPC
Rachel Quick - HVPC
Kelsie Rausher - SCPC

They received a participation ribbon, but did not place in the top 12
teams. They really needed a 4th person to give them any chance of
placing...tough competition by some teams that had been there 3 years with the same 4 people.

mom - Mariellen Rausher Shoal Creek volunteered in the barn phase with
sibling Pony Clubber Meghan where they did an awesome job!
mom - Leasa Quick HVPC was the chaperone and did a super job getting the team to their phases and lunches and shopping!
mom - Stacey Bates HVPC was a barn judge in the barn phase and had a super time meeting all of the Pony Clubbers from all over the nation!

Rosalie P.competed in tet, on a borrowed horse, and was on a scramble team with two young men, Adam L.  from Inland Empire Region, and Marshall S. from Oregon region. They had a three person team. They placed 2nd in Tet,and 2nd. in Horse Management, Rosalie took first place Senior girl , and Marshall Stymer, her team mate, took first place, Intermediate Boy . Rosalie was awarded the overall Equitation Ribbon, and received the Kim Dunlap Artana award for Senior Girl high score in Tet. All three had a great time. Rose also competed in the Quiz competition, and her team placed 6th, in the Senior C/HB division.
The Northwest Region, went all out and put on a very nice competition. In addition to bringing home some beautiful ribbons and a silver medal, Rosalie came away with a Sterling Cup (Kim Dunlap Artana Award) ,a Perri's saddle pad, and a SmartPak bag full of goodies, and some new friends! Several competitors, including Rosalie and her team mate Marshall, rode horses loaned to them by generous NW region pony clubbers. Rose's borrowed mount, Quinn, was a morgan/oldenburg cross, and she very much enjoyed the ride! The weather was cool and refreshing.
